Blake wanted to groan. “About what just happened, of course,” he replied in exasperation. “About me kissing you.”

“Oh,” Attis looked up at him uncertainly. “What about it? I really liked it,” he said earnestly.

The detective’s lips twitched. “That’s good,” he said. “But there’s a lot we need to discuss. For example, do you want me to do that again? Or even more? You’re attracted to me, and God help me I seem to be attracted to you for some unknown reason…so should we get together? Or not?”

Attis scratched at his green dyed head. “It seems awfully complicated,” he said uncertainly.

Blake shrugged. “Sometimes it is. In our case definitely, because I’m a bit weirded out by this whole thing…and you’ve obviously never been with another guy before.” He didn’t add that it was clear that the psychic had never been with anyone before.

Attis studied his face. “So what do we do?” he asked.

“Let’s sit down and talk,” he said, pointing to as pair of deep leather chairs near the desk.

“Okay,” Attis pattered after him, climbing into the chair like a little kid as Blake threw himself down in the other one and rubbed at his forehead. The detective felt like he was in an odd sort of dream – had he really just kissed Attis Gallagher? And were they now going to have a discussion about that fact? It was like he had wandered into Bizarro World somehow, where everything was upside down and backward to what it should be.

Attis had set his hands on the arms of the leather chair, and was kicking his legs a bit. Clearly he was enjoying himself. Blake snorted. “Hey, Short Round. Pay attention. We just locked lips, remember?” he waved a hand impatiently at the psychic.

Attis jumped. “Oh. Umm, what should we talk about?” he said.

Blake sighed. “I dunno. Maybe we could discuss whether we should have sex or not?” he growled.

Attis’s eyes got REALLY big at these words. “Sex?” he eeped, swallowing convulsively as his fingers dug into the arms of the chair in a nervous spasm.

The detective just stared at him. “Yeah, sex. That’s usually what happens when people start kissing each other, especially with tongues involved. What the hell did you think I wanted to talk about? Macramé?”

Attis squirmed visibly in the chair. “I-I just…umm…I’ve never…”

“That’s pretty clear, yeah,” Blake replied a bit more gently. “I know you haven’t ever, which is one of the reasons that we’re having this conversation in the first place. It’ll be up to you whether we do the deed or not, Attis, since this whole thing is completely new to you. Only you can decide if you want to lose your virginity or not.”

The psychic picked at the arm of the chair. “I really liked the kiss,” he said softly. “And the way you made me feel. I’m just…scared, I guess. I don’t really know that much about two men having sex,” he added as he bit at his lower lip a little.

Blake nodded. “I get that.
